Historic Achievement for JAU!
We are proud to announce that Ms. Komal Lakhani, a PhD student in Biotechnology at Junagadh Agricultural University (JAU), has been selected for the prestigious dual doctoral program with Western Sydney University (WSU), Australia. She is the first student from JAU to be chosen for this unique program.
The Dual Degree Program is part of a collaborative agreement established under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Junagadh Agricultural University and Western Sydney University. Through this program, Komal will receive two doctoral degrees - one from JAU and the other from WSU. As part of the arrangement, she will spend 18 months at Western Sydney University, where she will receive a research scholarship from WSU. She will work under the supervision of renowned plant molecular biologist Dr. Christopher Cazzonelli.
Komal, a recipient of the Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship, holds a BSc in Horticulture from JAU and an MSc in Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from Navsari Agricultural University. Her selection for this program is not only a personal milestone but also a testament to the academic excellence and global recognition of Junagadh Agricultural University.
