The Directorate of Research and Dean PG Studies is responsible for overseeing and monitoring various research projects. This includes planning and implementing research activities at different research stations, as well as managing and evaluating postgraduate research programs. Junagadh Agricultural University has 24 research stations located across various agro-climatic zones. Research at these stations focuses on Agriculture, Horticulture, and Agricultural Engineering to address the needs of farmers, artisans, and rural communities. In the past year, university scientists developed five new crop varieties, 35 farmers' recommendations, 27 scientific recommendations, and finalized 87 new technical programs. Six patents and one design for developed technologies were approved under the IPR Act. Seed production programs were also undertaken for different crop varieties. The university produced approximately 4,548 quintals of nucleus/breeder seeds and 11,018 quintals of truthful/foundation/certified seeds. The university also produced bioagents and other biopesticides for farmers, including 55 quintals of
Trichoderma/ Beauveria/ Metarhizium, 2,133 liters of liquid biofertilizer, and over 57,000 pheromone and fruit fly traps/lures. During the year, 22 new research projects were sanctioned by the Government of Gujarat and other agencies.
