Functions

• Monitoring research activities of the research projects sponsored by ICAR, Government of India, Government of Gujarat and other agencies & NGOs.
• Controlling of breeder seed production of various crops.
• Monitoring and developmental research activities of the farms of main campus and sub-centers.
• Organizing and monitoring of ZREAC, AGRESCO meeting for various research projects.
• Approval of crop schemes including different farm interventions for different seasons.
• Establishment of linkages with the State Government & ICAR to implement the updated guidelines of Government and ICAR.
• Establishment of linkages between University and ICAR for the distribution of NTS, MCM, JRF, SRF scholarships; RAWEP scholarship along with University development grant and funds under ELP.
• To motivate the scientists for undertaking research projects from Government, Semi-Government and other private agencies.
• Recommendation for allocation of plan, ICAR and other agencies budget to various departments and centers of this university.
• Monitoring the academic activities of the Post Graduate Students.
• To undertake collaborative research programmes/educational programmes with various research/academic institutes.
• To get approval of sponsored research schemes through research council meetings.
• To organize and depute scientists to various seminars/conferences/ workshops/group meetings etc.
• To maintain revenue records and land allocation.
• To sign Memorandum of Understanding in connection with the research projects/ education programmes to be undertaken
• Annual physical verification of stocks and stores of research station/schemes.
